Abstract: Drawing on the conservation of resources theory, this study examines the relationship between daily play online game and flow experience, while simultaneously exploring the moderating effects of involvement. This study was conducted to test these hypotheses. An experience sampling method was used for data collection. In this study, a total of 570 daily surveys were collected from 57 full-time general industry employees across 10 working days. We tested our hypotheses with the multi-level path analysis implemented in Mplus. The results were as follows: (1) Peer communication and escapism increased the daily play of online games; (2) daily flow experience mediated the effect of the daily play of online games and positive mood, vigor, and work performance; and (3) employees with high involvement were able to strengthen the positive relationships between the daily play online game and daily flow experience.
